Trenching & Utility Excavation
Utility Trenching and Excavation in Waco
Running a new water, sewer, gas, electrical, or drainage line means opening a clean, correctly bedded trench. Tnsmediagroup digs utility trenches across the Waco area to the right depth and grade, sets proper pipe bedding, and backfills and compacts so the surface above does not settle over the run. We coordinate the 811 locate first so existing buried lines get marked before the bucket goes in.
Why Trench Safety Matters
A trench is one of the most dangerous parts of any excavation. Under OSHA rules, any cut five feet deep or greater needs a protective system, whether that is sloping the walls back, benching, or dropping in a trench box. A competent person inspects the excavation daily. We build that protection into every deeper run off Herring Avenue or anywhere else, because no line is worth a collapse.
Our Process
After the 811 marks are down, we lay out the run and dig to the design depth and slope. We place bedding material, set the pipe, and backfill in compacted lifts to protect the line and hold the surface. Where the trench crosses a drive or lawn, we restore the grade and seed or gravel it back. Silt fence keeps the spoil out of the storm drain.
